Mark Burns

Mark taught for twelve years full time. His subsequent work over the last twelve years has seen him working intensively with literally thousands of teachers across the UK and abroad using video analysis to support the development the quality of teaching and learning in their classrooms.

As a result of this learning, he co-wrote two best-selling books; Engaging Learners and Teaching Backwards which have translated into several other languages. His latest, The Learning Imperative, won at the Business Book Awards 2019. It focusses on supporting leaders to raise the performance within their teams through effective learning.

Mark has two daughters in secondary school and is passionate about creating school environments where they’d thrive and grow either as pupils or newly qualified teachers.
